On the 23rd of September my husband, my daughter Yesenia and I packed our things and left Russia. We also had two of our friends riding with us in the car.
We drove for three days, though one of the days we were completely stuck in traffic.
On the last day we ran out of diapers and water for the baby, but fortunately we were already close to our destination.
On the 28th of September we crossed the border and found ourselves in Kazakhstan.
This is a story about us.
While we were driving, I made sketches and wrote notes about what was happening.
After we got to a safe place, I wanted to tell our story through my illustrations.

If you look carefully at the sketches, you can find many hidden meanings.
